POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager of Medical Staff Integration & Credentialing shall serve as a strategic leader and resource for future JV Partner and ASC acquisition, syndication, or Denovo sites; serves as the key process owner between Atlas Credentialing & Medical Staff Operations and Integration and manages and monitors processes and procedures that support the credentialing, re-credentialing, and expirables data management.

 

The position is responsible for providing leadership to the prospective Medical Staff of the ASC Client in all areas relating to credentialing and the medical staff, including due diligence, operational readiness, and onboarding; defining tactical objectives and potential process improvement initiatives; executing training and development of prospective medical staff team members; and providing analytical review combined with measurement tools to ensure success. This position works closely with the Manager of ASC for a successful hand off from launch and integration to operation and

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manages, and maintains effective communication with the ASC Client regarding the privileging processes for appointment, and reappointment for the medical staff organizations. Ensures these are executed according to policy, to ensure compliance with bylaws, policies, and rules and regulations of the medical staff and accreditation and legal requirements.
  • Development and implementation of medical staff policies and procedures for the ASC Client. Provides orientation to new medical staff leaders.
  • Partners with the Atlas Integration team to define the prospective ASC integration list, develop and track a detailed project plan for Medical Staff operations for each new center.
  • Engages with the Client, Regional, and National Atlas Leadership to meet, and preferably exceed,
  • performance goals.
  • Oversee the coordination of the application and reapplication process for all practitioners.
  • Ensure timely reports turnaround for processing of credentials applications, with continued focus on delivery of a high-quality product, with the greatest efficiency.
  • Supervise and mentor the Medical Staff Services Clerk and Medical Staff Services Coordinators, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient departmental operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SCOPE AND COMPLEXITY

Requires the constant exercise of a high degree of independent judgment and initiative in response to complex, sensitive issues, decision making, and discretion. Requires limited direction and guidance. Addresses moderately difficult problems. Maintains professional relationships with members of the administrative staff, members of the medical and allied staff, medical staff chairs, physician and other professional applicants, attorneys, medical staff professionals at other facilities, state licensing bodies, other departmental personnel and customers. All require courtesy, tact, patience, collaboration, and confidentiality.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Hospital Administration or related degree or demonstrated related work experience. Five – seven year(s) of experience in medical staff services is required with three years of leadership experience. Knowledge of medical staff operations, policies, rules and regulations, regulatory agency guidelines and standards. Demonstrated knowledge of Ambulatory Surgery Center policy and procedures including credentialing, medical staff management, and integration as normally acquired in one or more years of experience.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) and/or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS). Work experience with the Company’s systems and process. Knowledge of medical staff computer software program. Previous Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) integration experience.

Compensation: $77,138 - $123,000
