POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Revenue Cycle is responsible for leading the operational effectiveness and ongoing performance improvement of Atlas’ full-scope revenue cycle services across its national ambulatory surgery center (ASC) portfolio. This leader ensures that all functions—including coding, billing, collections, accounts receivable management, and payment processing—are executed with operational excellence, financial accuracy, and regulatory compliance. A core focus of the role is driving continuous, measurable improvement through the development and execution of scalable processes, proactive performance monitoring, and cross-functional collaboration. This position is accountable for ensuring that revenue cycle operations meet and exceed established performance standards, support organizational growth, and deliver a high-quality experience for internal and external stakeholders.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of operational strategies that improve the efficiency, accuracy, and financial performance of revenue cycle activities.
  • Establish performance metrics, dashboards, and KPIs to evaluate operational effectiveness and drive accountability for sustained improvement.
  • Oversee all facets of revenue cycle operations, including A/R management, claims processing, denial resolution, payment posting, and regulatory compliance, ensuring alignment with Atlas policies and ASC-specific nuances.
  • Analyze and interpret data to identify trends in payer reimbursement, aging, and denial rates, initiating corrective actions and process enhancements as needed.
  • Produce and present recurring operational and financial performance reports tailored to various audiences, including department leadership, executive team members, joint venture partners, and governing board committees—highlighting key trends, risks, and actionable insights.
  • Partner with Finance, Payor Relations, and Compliance to ensure contract adherence, accurate revenue forecasting, and regulatory compliance across all markets.
  • Lead continuous process improvement initiatives using structured methodologies to enhance cash performance, reduce cycle time, and eliminate inefficiencies.
  • Coach and develop team members to ensure high performance, accountability, and alignment with Atlas values and operational goals.
  • Support internal and external audits and facilitate audit readiness through documentation, tracking, and proactive issue resolution.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations, promptly address escalated client concerns, and champion a culture of operational excellence and customer service.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Accounting, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in ASC, hospital-based, or physician practice revenue cycle operations.
  • Demonstrated track record of managing large-scale operations with measurable outcomes in revenue cycle performance and process improvement.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills with the ability to influence across departments and drive results in a matrixed environment.
  • Proven ability to balance strategic vision with tactical execution, managing competing priorities and diverse stakeholder needs.
  • Experience preparing and presenting data-driven insights to senior executives and governing boards.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in revenue cycle operations.
  • Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement certification.

The role requires navigating complex payer environments, regulatory frameworks, and diverse joint-venture partnerships. Success depends on the ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on problem solving, while driving measurable financial outcomes and operational efficiency. This position also requires close collaboration with executive leadership, ASC leaders, and cross-functional partners to deliver sustainable results and consistent high-quality stakeholder experience.


 



Compensation: $137,161 - $161,546
