POSITION SUMMARY
The Tax and Compliance Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing and ensuring the organization's adherence to tax regulations and compliance requirements. This position requires a deep understanding of tax laws, regulations, and financial reporting, as well as the ability to develop and implement effective compliance strategies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Compliance Management:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations at local, state, and federal levels.
- Works closely with external consultants/auditors in preparation and filing of accurate and timely tax returns.
- Conduct periodic internal audits to identify and address compliance issues.
- Scope of work covers support for sales tax, property tax, and income tax compliance.
- Financial Reporting:
- Work closely with the finance department to integrate tax planning into financial budgeting process.
- Provide accurate and timely tax information for financial statements and disclosures.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential areas of tax and compliance risk and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard against non-compliance.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Liaise with external auditors, legal counsel, and government agencies during audits and inquiries.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive understanding of business operations and their tax implications.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Evaluate existing tax and compliance processes and recommend improvements for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and implement changes as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in tax, with a focus on compliance and management.
- Direct management experience of multiple direct reports
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Data Master’s Degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Certified Public Accountant
- Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations, as well as a proactive approach to staying informed about changes.
- Additional related education and/or experience is preferred.

This position requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and strategic thinking to navigate the complexities of the regulatory landscape. The position will be responsible for working with cross-functional teams, external auditors, and government agencies to uphold the company's commitment to legal and regulatory standards.
Compensation: $106,009 - $160,300
