POSITION SUMMARY

The Associate Vice President of Development manages and executes market strategies within assigned territories. The role will serve in driving the organization’s growth through leadership, management, and execution of the development strategy.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of select markets and local healthcare dynamics, collaborating with key stakeholders to formulate and implement the overall corporate development strategy, aligning it with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Establish and cultivate a network of relationships with physicians, ASC CEOs, health system leadership, and other relevant stakeholders in defined markets.
  • Manage and oversee the end-to-end process for identifying and assessing acquisition, merger, and de novo opportunities. This includes sourcing M&A targets, leading deal execution and negotiation, conducting due diligence, performing valuations, and facilitating successful closings.
  • Oversee and review the design, construction, and execution of complex financial models and analytical projects. Provide recommendations based on findings. Lead divestitures, working closely with Atlas and health system leaders on sales materials, financial disclosures, valuation, negotiation, and closing.
  • Collaborate with leadership teams to effectively manage the pipeline of targeted acquisition opportunities.
  • Partner with operations executives and legal counsel to structure proposed transactions, develop business plans, and execute definitive transaction documents to support successful partnership opportunities.
  • Assess and make recommendations to leadership and JV Board on pursuing transactions, considering resource requirements.
  • Set clear expectations with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely communication and deliverables.
  • Direct and organize activities to achieve or exceed budgeted results and financial objectives, contributing to the company's growth and value.
  • Effectively manage and allocate resources within the corporate development team to ensure optimal performance and productivity. Ensure the profitability of the Atlas development department while meeting performance expectations for approved assets.
  • Conduct all business matters with the highest level of integrity, fostering a culture of compliance to enhance the company's credibility and reputation.
  • Interface and communicate effectively with all company departments, fostering collaboration and alignment.
  • Develop internal talent by providing training on M&A activities and processes to the Corporate Development team. Coach and develop the team on deal strategy, advanced valuation techniques, deal management, due diligence, influencing skills, and negotiation capabilities.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the corporate development team, identifying opportunities for process enhancements and implementing best practices.
  • Perform other managerial duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Finance, Economics, Business, or related field preferred
  • 7+ years of relevant experience required
  • Demonstrated expert financial and analytical skills
  • Proficient skillset using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to convey the appropriate insights
  • Refined sales skills
  • Strong presentation skills in one-on-one, executive briefings and large audience settings
  • Ability to present complex concepts in a clear, concise manner

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree in a related field. Additional relevant experience is preferred.
