POSITION SUMMARY
The Accounting & Finance Intern is responsible for supporting the Accounting Department with reconciliations, financial analysis, and month-end close activities under supervision. This internship provides structured training, professional development, and exposure to core financial operations of multiple ambulatory surgery center facilities. The role reports to the Senior Accountant or Manager – Facility Accounting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist in preparation of journal entries under staff guidance
- Perform reconciliations for assigned accounts, including cash, prepaid assets, and fixed assets
- Support monthly expense review and basic variance explanations
- Contribute to P&L and budget-to-actual analysis
- Assist in preparing financial reporting packages
- Participate in documentation of policies, procedures, and process improvement projects
- Support other departments on finance-related requests as assigned
- Engage in training, mentorship, and professional development activities
- Ad hoc/impromptu projects
- Ability to multitask, collaborate and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds in a fast-paced environment.
- Taking on additional tasks or projects to learn more about accounting and office operations.
Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently enrolled as a junior, senior, or graduate student in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- Foundational knowledge of accounting principles (through coursework)
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (vlookups, xlookups, sumifs, pivot tables)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Interest in healthcare finance and curiosity to understand business drivers
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Additional education and experience preferred.

Compensation: $20 - $20
