JOB TITLE

Senior Accountant (Corporate Accounting – Development Centers Project Costing)


POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant is responsible for numerous areas of accounting and reporting for acquired surgery centers under development as well as joint venture entities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Monthly Accounting Cycle Responsibilities
    • loan reconciliation and booking of journal entries
    • fixed asset and construction in progress accounting for corporate and joint venture entities
    • record revenue from development projects according to ASC 606
    • generate progress billing based on input hours by project, SOW, development team
    • prepare monthly reporting for development project
    • cash accounting and bank reconciliations for joint venture entities
    • actively participate in monthly operating review calls with facility leaders and operations management
    • provide high-quality customer service to facility leaders regarding accounting inquiries
  • Financial Analysis Responsibilities
    • prepare financial reporting package for joint venture entities
    • budget to actual result analysis for development and construction projects
    • lead monthly P&L variance review for joint venture entities
    • participate in budgeting and forecasting process for entities under design and construction projects
  • Project Costing Responsibilities:
    • Import initial Joint Venture Board Approved budget
    • file and input Commitments (Purchase Orders, Contracts, Signed Proposals)
    • file and input Actual Costs (invoices). 
    • perform budget adjustments as needed or directed to ensure budget line items maintain sufficient balance to support commitments/invoices
    • support and/or perform budget forecast as directed and coordinate with funding sources (loans, etc.)
    • other tasks as required in construction accounting system
  • Ad hoc/impromptu projects
    • assist departments outside of accounting with various projects and requests
    • documentation of policies and procedures
    • creative work in implementing/improving accounting processes

Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.

SCOPE AND COMPLEXITY
Works independently under general supervision, following defined standards and procedures. Reports to a Supervisor or Manger. Uses critical thinking skills to solve problems and reconcile accounts in a timely manner. External customers include all hospital patients, patient families and all third-party payers. Internal customers include facility medical records and patient financial services staff, attorneys, and central services staff members.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

BS in Accounting/Finance

5+ years accounting experience (general ledger accounting preferred)

Demonstrate initiative and ability to work independently with minimal daily direction from management

Able to operate both independently and as part of a larger functional team

Organizational capacity to manage deadlines and conflicting priorities in a dynamic work environment

Strong excel skills

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

CPA License or candidate

Project accounting experience

Experience with E-builder

 

 

 



Compensation: $86,351 - $101,000
